Dinner Dance and Weekend Workshop Package - 25th and 26th Feb 2012

Audacity Dance is pleased to announce that Holly and Allan Skinner from Raw Connection WCS and Le Step on the Coast will be our special guests for our first Dinner Dance on 25 February 2012. Holly and Allan are accomplished Australian WCS and Modern Jive champions. There will be a weekend of structured West Coast Swing workshops on Saturday (3) and Sunday (1) and a fun filled Dinner Dance and a spectacular performance from our Queensland guests on Saturday evening.  Expect to see some other performances on the night from invited guests.

Each workshops has been structured so they build from one level to the next whilst still being suitable as a stand alone unit. You can choose any single workshop but there is no doubt you will benefit from doing all four due to the curriculum based approach Allan and Holly have chosen.  We hope all our friends from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will consider coming down for the weekend as we have a special price for interstate guests and we will do our best to help you find billeted accommodation. Workshops will be held at the Folk Dance Canberra Hall, 114 Maitland Street in Hackett (formerly Hackett Primary school).

Our dinner dance is at the spectacular fully refurbished Kurrajong Hotel, 8 National Circuit, Barton. It is full of history and was Prime Minister Ben Chifley’s Canberra home for more than 20 years.  If you would like to stay overnight, they have room rates for two people starting at $143. Phone number is 02 6234 4444.  The normal weekday rate is $259.  Why not consider coming down on the Friday night and heading to the Brumbies vs. Western Force game or going to the Theatre to see the professional show "Dickens Women".  In between workshops, you might like to see the Renaissance Exhibition (book as early as possible) or the "Ten Centuries of Manuscripts" exhibition.
